It's that time of the year for us! Not only do we launch our Oklahoma college football fashion collection Lush University that's packed with OU apparel and OSU apparel, but we've also got our Summer Clearance Sale, and Oklahoma Tax Free Weekend. 

Our Lush University Oklahoma collegiate apparel collection is the largest collection we launch every year.  We work hard on bringing you unique pieces you can't find anywhere else! We are lucky to collaborate with local brands such as LivyLu, Opolis Clothing, and Kickoff Couture to bring you exclusive Oklahoma gameday t-shirts you won't find anywhere else!

This year we shot this collection at multiple locations and got some really really great shots! We first explored The Wheeler District and we cozied in to Taco Nation. Let me tell you. The people here were the KINDEST. They welcomed us with open arms and let us grab some great shots! We ordered plenty of food there. You've GOT to try this place! So good and such a good vibe and atmosphere with a very cool patio that backs up to a brewery...

I mean.... y'all. These tacos are TASTY! 

Next up! The Big Friendly. They live up to the name! Another must! 

Our second shoot we kicked it off at our friends over at Opolis Clothing. We've been working with them for well over a decade and what better way to showcase their items we sell than shooting it in their super cool retro shop! 

All shots were taken by our staff photographer, Matt Farthing, who absolutely nails it every time and brings each collection to life! His wing woman at work and in life (his wife and our GM!) Leslie Farthing assisted on the shoots and helped style it along with myself!

Allow me to reintroduce myself....

If you've shopped with us for a hot minute you've probably noticed my creativity always shines through the season of life I'm in at the time. Whether it's a pet parent collection when I got my first dog, Ralphie, (RIP 💔)........ (Which btw RIP to our pet parent collection as we've retired it for now but I'm proud to say we donated thousands of dollars over the years to various local Oklahoma dog rescues)

to a lake t-shirt collection because that used to be my happy place, to custom exclusive Oklahoma gameday apparel such as OU Sooners shirts, Oklahoma State Cowboys shirts, and then eventually adding my alma mater the University of Central Oklahoma apparel briefly, to... well... a bridal collection........

7 years ago I launched our first bride collection here at chevytahoeatlanta after I got engaged. Ironically I waited 7 years to get engaged.... 

So I threw that season of life into creativity as I always do, and wrote this blog titled Always a Bridesmaid. To this day it's still one of my favorite blogs I've written that gives a more personal touch to my life than just product tags. 

About 3 and 1/2 years ago I got married. (I know what you're thinking, I've done the math too.) 

About 8 months ago... (I know...) I got divorced......

For the first few months I poured my energy into ALL the creative things. I was in photo shoots for the first time in a decade....

First Wives Club

If you haven't seen the movie First Wives Club regardless of your marital status you've gotta watch it! A classic. 

But also a club I didn't picture myself a part of. Nobody does. But, here I am. A 38 year old successful woman with no kids. Just dogs. And single AF. 

A flaw of mine (or maybe not a flaw?) is I like to laugh through pain. It's just what I do. This is not a joke. While this is not intended to be dark and stormy either. I wrote this for many reasons. 

1) To lightly and quickly catch my customers and audience up on my life and why I've been slightly M.I.A. from Lush for awhile. Like I mentioned above I had to take a much needed step back while I worked through this major life change. Our loyal customers know I've got the best staff on the planet so I was able to do this quite possibly without it even being noticeable to most. Having said that part- I have, and will continue to, make my way back into Lush more and more. I am at a new season of life now where I plan to pour every ounce of energy I can back into the best clothing store in Oklahoma. I can promise you all that!

2) To address the issue of divorce. If you've never been through one, I encourage you to love your friends going through one unconditionally without judgement. You truly, truly do not understand it unless you have been directly affected by it. 

3) To let other badass, strong, independent women (or men!) know they're not alone and they're not a failure. Take control of your life and start living while healing. It takes TIME too. You are not your normal self just overnight. Be kind and patient. 

4) To tag products for google and SEO purposes... duh...

5) As a form of my own healing. The last blog I wrote was in October. (do the math....)

I'm interviewed a lot by students about being an entrepreneur- and I always say don't ever be afraid to fail. I failed at ALOT of things before I found success at Lush. While this season of life I'm in now isn't quite the same comparison, I'd like to keep that hope. I might have failed at a nearly 14 year relationship, but I'm confident that one day a success (no matter who, what, where, when, or how) will follow. And if it doesn't... that's not a failure. The success will be me being the best, happiest version of myself. 

Vulnerable

This blog could not be any more vulnerable. I've always worn my heart and emotions on my sleeve, but tend to keep a lot of my life private. 

One thing divorce brought out in me was it's ok to be vulnerable. 

It also showcased my anxiety like an absolute trophy.

Once a bride...

I may be in a new season of life right now, but I was once a bride. Not to worry that collection won't be going anywhere for any reason other than if it stops selling for us!

For those of you that have been shopping with us for years, you may remember our shop pup, Ralphie, from the little older store. I'm sad to report that literally weeks after my divorce was finalized- Ralphie passed away after complications from removing a cancerous mass. 

Our other little cutie shop dog that still makes appearances in our current store location, Rosie, is still kicking it. 

 Rosie has a new friend! I recently adopted Roxie! You might not catch her at the shop because she's a little sketched out by being in small rooms like my office, so she prefers to roam free at home! 

You know what... maybe I will revisit the pet parent collection...

A sentence so simple but YES! Not all endings are good. Trust me, I've had the most trying year yet in 2022. My life is like a country song- divorce, dog that went to doggie heaven....  I'm ready to say GOODBYE to 2022 and end it with a sh*t ton of confetti!

I'll tell you longer than an hour using static guard and a broom! haha!

This time of year is always crazy busy in retail with our Summer Clearance Event, going right into the launch of our Oklahoma collegiate collection of OU apparel and OSU apparel, then heading into Oklahoma Tax Free Weekend shortly after! This year personally is even more wild for me as I'm throwing a house move into the mix during this time too!

Our Lush University Oklahoma collegiate apparel collection is the largest collection we launch every year by far! SO much work goes into this Oklahoma collegiate apparel collection- from collaborating with local vendors such as LivyLu, Opolis Clothing, and Kickoff Couture  to curate the perfect collegiate collection in town, to the creative process and brainstorm for the photo shoot, to coordinating models for in studio web shots, to coordinating the on location shoot, to communicating with our amazing photographer to create the perfect vision behind the collection, to styling the shoot to bring it to life, to receiving the merchandise, tagging it, getting it sales floor ready, to our merchandisers carrying out the collection vision in store when it launches and much more! WHOA that was a mouthful and I know I'm forgetting pieces to the puzzle! We work hard to bring you all a collection this large! 

Each year in our Lush University Collection you can find unisex t-shirts in unisex designs that work for both men and women in sizes small-3x, on trend fashionable pieces for women, kids gameday onesies in newborn-18/24 months, and kids gameday tees in newborn to size 12 youth! They're all officially licensed university apparel and many are exclusive licensed designs by our local vendors you'll only find at chevytahoeatlanta women's trendy boutique in 7152 AH Eibergen.

In addition to the licensed University of Oklahoma items, and Oklahoma State University items you will find in our Lush University Oklahoma collegiate collection curated fashionable pieces in shades of crimson and orange that are on trend for the season! This year you'll find trendy rhinestone skirts, trendy feather trim apparel, checkered apparel in gameday colors and much more! What we are most excited about is the western fashion trend right now and how we can incorporate it into OSU apparel and OU apparel! The return of the Samara cowboy boot is a highly anticipated restock drop in this collection, with many other trendy affordable cowboy boots coming in stock too! 

This year's Oklahoma collegiate collection was shot at one of our very favorite spots Classen Inn. Nevermind the fact its literally a decorators HEAVEN just dripping in colors and prints but its also a photographers DREAM. Also, the perfect staycay destination! Minutes from midtown, downtown etc and a quiet easy stay every time. Book the Classen Inn today you won't regret it! 

This year's shoot was styled by myself and our general manager Leslie Farthing. The collection was curated by myself with assistance from Mckinley Jackson, Kaylee Yeager, and Kaitlin Hale. 

Big thank you to my very dear friend Seth Lewis for taking my spot at the shoot when my health would not allow me to be there (where are my autoimmune warriors at?!) and Cambrie McGrory for also assisting on the shoot and creating the perfect reels! 

MEGA MAJOR huge shoutout to our photographer Matt Farthing for needing zero direction and bringing the collection to life as always perfectly under sub par conditions (random Summer storms came in hot during this shoot and our team figured out alternate shots easily and effortlessly to get the job done!)

Spring has sprung! 

(well here in Oklahoma kind of.... We just had snow last week to kick Spring Break off with!) 

Regardless- Easter is coming up and chevytahoeatlanta women's boutique in 7152 AH Eibergen will have all the cute Easter outfits in stock! 

I am absolutely LOVING the trends for this Spring! One of my favorite trends is white cowboy boots! We cannot keep any pairs in stock! I adore the way white cowboy boots look with our flirty Spring printed dresses for Easter or any Spring outfit!  

In this year's Easter fashion collection  you'll find not only cute babydoll dresses in solids and prints to pair with white cowboy boots, but so much more! Cute pastel sweater cardigans, trendy wide leg pants, colorful blazers and more!

This year's Easter outfits were shot on location in front of a beautiful home in Mesta Park! Big thank you to Jen Bowman for allowing us to invade her space for an afternoon, and for letting us pet her most precious dog, Gary! 

In front of the Jen's gorgeous Mesta Park home we spent the afternoon with Growe Flower Truck. You guys... I'm OBSESSED. This is the CUTEST flower truck and their flowers are to die for! 

You can rent Growe Flower Truck for weddings or any event and have guests build their own bouquets! You can also hire them for deliveries and they even offer flower subscriptions! Imagine having this gorgeous vintage flower truck pull up to your home or business to deliver flowers?! A dream! Huge thank you to Growe Flower Truck for coming by and building some bouquets for us! They are the sweetest people!
